Did you know that there are STILL 2000 languages without any part of the Bible translated?
We love clouds
Friday, 03 September 2010 09:18
Our first day of walking was sunny and hot.
Since then however, we've basically walked under heavy cloud cover with a cool breeze and refreshing drizzle - for EIGHT days straight!!! Unbelievable.
Everyone kept telling us that this was SO untypical for this time of year - north Queensland can be hot and humid.
Walking an average of 30km a day, you can imagine how thankful we were for the unusually cool weather, but we knew that our good fortune would have to come to an end sooner or later..
Then my wife phoned me from Stanthorpe to say that she'd checked out the weather forecast and it predicted blue skies and sunshine all the next day - she wished me well for what was looking like being a very hot walk day. And when we got up in the morning and headed out, it certainly did look like being a hot one.
My mother phoned from Cairns a couple of hours later and said she was thinking of me with this hot weather. Hot weather?? Apparently in Cairns it was hot and sunny!! But, 268km south of Cairns, we were walking as cool as cucumbers, once more, under heavy cloud cover and with a cool breeze!!! And the clouds hung around ... all day!!!
We loooove clouds!!!!

... ....the sun shall not burn you by day nor the moon by night. Ps 91. Not sure what David meant about the moon burning my night but eitherway - no burn - is the message. And He will give his angels charge over you so you will not hit your foot against a stone. Great words of protection. But watch out for crocs! |

... On Sunrise this morning, Grant Denyer proudly finished his 1000km motorbike RIDE through the top end... just doesn't quite match up to the huge 2000km challenge that you're taking! Keep going, guys!!! |

... Great to hear of God's grace being granted in the form of 'cloud shelter'! If He can lead His people in a wilderness day after day with a cloud for as long as they needed it, why not shelter 3 of His people day after day with cloud for as long as He knows you need it!? He knows what strength you need for the journey and just how many days of cloud cover you need to be able to apportion your strength for just how and when it is needed! What a generous and loving God we serve! Just a suggestion: when you give an update would it be possible to put at the top how many kms travelled so far and how far yet to go - would help to keep in mind what stage of the journey you are on as well as reinforce the "numbers" related not only to the 2000kms you are travelling but the 2000 languages they represent. Praying for you. |

... I'm 73 years young, retired & battling cancer. How I wish it were possible for me to physically join you. But God is good, always, and I shall continue to pray for you and trust the objective of your project will be achieved, even beyond that which you can imagine. Keep looking upward and onward. |
